Traveling to a new place comes with questions. What do I bring? Do I need to lug my mat onto the plane? Will there be something for me to eat?
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No, all retreat staff, including those transferring you from the airport, speak English. If you want to pick up useful phrases, the staff is always happy to teach you!
Is there Wifi in paradise?
There is internet access throughout the retreat center. Participants are encouraged to ‘unplug’ as much as possible, practice being in the present moment and take in the natural beauty of Xinalani.
What do I bring?
Clothes for practicing yoga, the pool & beach, day hikes, and dinner. Some helpful additions are hiking sandals/sneakers; flashlight/headlamp; journal, sunscreen.
Xinalani provides yoga mats, towels, and props; shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion. I recommend bringing money to exchange if you would like to buy souvenirs during our day hikes to the next beach or in the village of Quimixto.
A packing list will be sent a month before the retreat.
Do I have to do the activities?
All yoga and activities are optional! You are encouraged to slow down and do what feels good each day. For those of us who tend to overextend ourselves, this will be a great opportunity to practice discernment and let go of what we ‘should’ do.
Will there be something for me to eat?
No red meat is not served. Each dinner will include either seafood or chicken. The kitchen accommodates all food restrictions. Please send me your food restrictions ASAP so I can inform the chef.
The youngest of us
Xinalani Retreat Center does not allow children under 12. This is a Retreat Center policy.
Never been to an Eco Retreat?
Eco-retreats are environmentally friendly. They promote mindful water use and utilize low electric current (no hairdryers). There are a lot of stairs. Please let me know if you have had a recent surgery or injury and she will request a room close to the dining room.
Cost and Activities
Room cost, activities, amenities, and tentative schedule. Rise & Radiate is limited to 15 people.
