Meg is certified in the following yoga styles:

Hot 26

Hot 26 is a set sequence of 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises. It is made up of all static poses. The Hot 26 sequence is considered the yoga for physical healing. As the name implies it is heated. In ideal conditions the room is heated to 105° F and humidity is maintained at 40%. As with all yoga styles, but particularly with heated styles, you are encouraged to practice at your skill level and pace. No one frowns at you for just lying down and appreciating the heat.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa is a flow-style yoga connecting breath to movement. The ‘flow’ comes from the smooth transitions between poses. Vinyasa is a broad term, resulting in a diverse practice. Classes can vary greatly in style, pace, and intensity. The primary driving factor is based on the intention of the sequence.

Bikyasa

Bikyasa is a combination of Bikram (Hot 26) and Vinyasa. It is a set sequence that alternates between static poses and dynamic flows. Just as with Hot 26 it is a heated class. The optimal heated room of runs a 105° F  and a steady 40% humidity. As is true with Hot 26 and all other styles, yogis are strongly encouraged to be aware of their capacity and edge on any given day and take breaks as needed. We practice today so we can practice tomorrow.

Yin

Yin primarily focuses on joint health. It targets joints, ligaments, and fascia. The style was created so that one can sit in mediation without having discomfort. It helps to improve blood flow to joints and improves flexibility. The poses are primarily seated. It is slow moving practice and poses (asanas) are held for several minutes.

Hatha

While some Hatha yoga can be traced back to the 1st-century CE, Hatha is a broad term for all styles of yoga with asana. In modern yoga terminology it has come to mean a slower-paced and gentle practice. It refers to the balance of activity and rest. These classes are often alignment based. Many believe Hatha classes are a great entry into the practice yoga.

Kundalini

Kundalini is the yoga of awareness. Classes consist of ‘tuning in’, kriya, and mantra meditation. Kriya is a set of exercises, often with specific breathwork (pranayama), to achieve an intended outcome. The instructor pairs the kriya and meditation for an intended purpose. Rocket

Rocket is a variation of Ashtanga. The creator was the yoga instructor for the Grateful Dead. He adapted the sequences to add playfulness and make the postures more accessible. It is fast-paced and is dynamic in this mixture of strength, flexibility, and endurance-building sequences. It is a way to study ourselves through breath, bandhas, and dristhi.
